About Us

Our Mission

We are committed to fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, healing, and empowerment through forgiveness, acceptance, compassion, and kindness—honouring the humanity and dignity our ancestors were denied. We address anti-Black racism, advocate for equity, social and economic justice, and unite diverse cultures through partnerships and collaboration. Inspired by Nelson Mandela’s leadership and movement of forgiveness, we educate, advocate, and drive policy change for lasting impact. Through cultural programs and policy advocacy, we bridge communities and inspire meaningful change.

Our Story

Founded in the wake of the solidarity march in 2020 following George Floyd’s murder, the Aurora Black Community Association (ABC) grew out of simple kitchen-table conversations into a registered non-profit organization rooted in healing, connection and action.
With the motto “One Vision, Diverse Voices,” we are committed to dismantling anti-Black racism, bridging cultural divides and empowering the Aurora community through inclusion, celebration and collective responsibility.
